The overall goal for the project was to raise women’s awareness of their political rights and to encourage their participation in Afghanistan's political processes.
WOMEN RIGHTS & DEMOCRACY was the second project funded by HBS & implemented by WAA in Paktia; the project aimed at facilitating an environment in which women rights and democracy in Paktia was ensured through direct engagement and involvement of women in all decisions affecting the family and community live. This was achieved by identifying the root causes of violence against women and enhancing abilities to recognize harm caused through violence on women, society and safety of families and communities.
